Does anyone know if theres any way to make the scent last longer....or make it more strong......this is by far my favorite scent of any shave stuff iv ever tried....I just wish it would last longer....anyone know of any Aftershaves or soaps with a scent very similar to that of lucky tiger... only lasts longer?
You wont regret it!! It smells wonderful!! Just doesnt last long at all...you splash it on....you smell it for a minute or so...then once its dry you cant smell much of anything anymore but if its the only way I can have my Lucky Tiger then so be it...I will never stop using this stuff Iv had mine for over a year and still use it like 2 -3 times a week on my normal AS rotations......I usually put balm on first then the AS......a good mix of balm and AS is the Baxter of California ASB then top it with some Lucky Tiger....talk about amazing!!
Which Lucky Tiger scent are your referring to? I use the Aspen and find it's holding power is better than average for a barber style AS, though still somewhat fleeting. At least with bay rums I can apply TSD BR Cologne and boost the holding power significantly. I am not aware of a cologne to match this Aspen however.
I just went to Lucky Tiger myself and I love the stuff. I agree that the scent doesn't last but I've actually come to see this as a positive since I've sadly found that I have a sensitivity to many perfume oil fragrances like Clubman (they give me headaches). I do love that citrus scent though. The issue is that Lucky Tiger is 100% natural, no parabin, no nasty chemicals which is partly why the product is so superior. The downside is that all those nasty undisclosed chemicals in synthetic perfumes are what makes the scent linger even though some have been linked to potential health risks. That's the reason why essential oil based frags never have the staying power of perfume oil. Don't give up on the Tiger though! May just have to find a cologne you like.
I have just found this on Amazon UK and am tempted. What does it smell like? As usual....over here it is at least $1 =GBP1.....so I don't want a lame duck!
This is my go to aftershave because of its effectiveness in calming, tightening and soothing my skin. If you have sensitive skin you are likely to have good luck with this product. I have sensitive skin myself and I splash it on my face, neck and even my forehead & scalp. As stated above the fragrance of LT does not last, honestly to ensure that you are not disappointed I think that you would be best off to think of Lucky Tiger as a fragrance free product. It does have a beautiful citrus scent when you first splash it on, but once it dries it is fragrance free on your skin. So, if you want a gentle, tried and true aftershave product that is chemical free, Lucky Tiger is the way to go. But if you are really looking for a fragrance than you will be disappointed.
Actually that is probably exactly what I want. I usually but aftershaves which are neutral or short lived. I prefer to apply a cologne of my choice
@madmedic Exactly right. I know when I first got into using aftershaves I was really hung up on finding a fragrance that would last throughout the day. But once I got more into things I've come to care less about the fragrance aspect of my aftershaves and if I want a fragrance to look to cologne. IMO Lucky Tiger is a great product. But I totally see where Latherman 87 was going in wanting to find a way to keep the LT fragrance going all day because even though it doesn't last, it is a very nice and soothing fragrance; it's like bottled sunshine.
One of my current favourite aftershaves is Floid. It gives a great finish with very little lingering fragrence. I hope that Lucky Tiger does the same....as I have just ordered a bottle!
You will love it!!! I use it about 3 or 4 times a week now.....excellent scent...and the good thing is...a little goes a long way...since you are not needing to splash a bunch on for the scent like most AS products...you use just enough to wet your face since the scent wont last anyways you might as well use less and enjoy it more often instead of feeling like you have to keep a bit in the bottle for later dates lol I was to the point where I loved it so much I did not even want to use it because I wanted it to last me.....even though I can buy another bottle of it lol....but theres something about that stuff that when you do have a bottle....you dont want it to run out!! I dont know if my senseless bable made any sense at all lol but hey what can ya do.
@madmedic I'm glad you brought up the floid. I've been thinking about trying that after my Lucky Tiger runs out. I love the LT but I also really enjoy sampling other products, half the joy of this hobby. What would you have to say about the character of Floid?
I bought some a few Weeks ago from Iherb, i'm also in the UK but it worked out chapter as I also bought some Thayer a witch hazel. I really like the luck tiger, it had a very fresh orange scent but it does go away very quickly. Made my skin feel very refreshed and I found I don't need a balm or moisturiser after.
I have only used the Italian Floid....in both Amber and Blue versions. The Blue has now been discontinued. The Spanish version I understand has a higher alcohol content and a sharper scent. Floid Italian (for me has great skin care. It makes me think of talcum powder......but that may be because it dries down to give your skin a fantastic finish, and leaves a borderlineBBS feeling BBS. The scent disappears quickly and there is no interference with any cologne you may choose to use.
The Italian Floid is what I was curious about... I've moved to Italian soaps (Valobra) and love it! @sjedwardz - I agree with you about the benefit of not needing a moisturizer with Lucky Tiger. That's one of the things I find desirable. I live in Minnesota and it is extremely dry this time of year so skin gets dry, chapped quickly so anything too drying I can't really use in the winter months. I was happy to find that the LT is gentle enough to be kind to my skin in the winter. Needless to say anything menthol will have to wait until summer. Next go around I think I may try some Italian Floid too.
The one balm /milk that has really been beneficial to my skin lately (its very cold in the UK at the moment ) is Ogallala Bay Rum with Lime and Peppercorn. This stuff is FANTASTIC , yes it can sting a little when you put it on but not all of the time. BUT it leaves my skin feeling very moisturised I guess thats down to the witch hazel and the essential oils in it. Plus Meguires barber shop on Ebay UK sell it locally!! Next time I'm getting the biggest bottle they do.
I may try that as well..........I like bay rum....but my problem is blends. I am not sure how a traditional scent reacts to added extras! I know I am being silly
Madmedic - give it a go, i'm not a great fan of bay rum as they can have too much clove scent but this one doesn't, much more of a citrus after tone. I think some places do samples I know the UK Ebay seller does, small bottles for £1
I actually ordered that last night...... seemed too good an opportunity to miss. That raises another problem......he has soap samples as well!
