It seems that Merkur has been busy tweaking its famous heavy duty safety razor, and released a silver-plated version in honor of its original iteration. The tweaking appears to be in the length of the cap and base plate, which now cover the entire length of the blade including the "wings" or "flaps", and in how the cap is threaded. Otherwise it's basically the same razor as in recent years. So now I have a fancy silver-plated Merkur 34 to go with my gold-plated one! I got this as an early birthday present, so I'm eager to display them on my shelf. Has anyone else gotten a hold of the newer Merkur 34 razors? How do they compare to those from 2017 (when I got my 34C) - 2023?
