I finally got around to putting up this Mesquite Wood Shave Shelf that my father in-law made for my birthday. My wife had sent him measurements a little prior to my birthday. The two brushes standing in the back were just a little to small for the slots. You can see on the drawer, he made the handle in the shape of a DE Razor on top of a Brush. The Mesquite came from a log that he's had for a little while, and milled in his workshop. The wood was tough as anything when I was drilling the holes to mount it. Probably the toughest/densest wood I've dealt with. The drawer:
His father owned a mill up near Redding Ca. We have a china hutch in the Dining room that he had made of wood from only one oak tree. Him and my Brother in-law have rare/exotic wood just laying around.
Thanks for the tip, I made a few single cradles thinking that I could 'sneak up' on accumulation. If I start off with your concept SWMBO may look into my side of the cabinet and ask* what goes in the empty slots. She's been down that road before with my Fly rods and Ukuleles. Gimme time..... Cheers, R *knowing full well
OK; Decision time. I found out we have to move across town. The new place is a two story, with two bathrooms (Shower, Toilet, and Sink) on the second floor, and a half bath (Toilet and Sink) on the first. Soooo, Do I mount this: 1) In the half bath on the first floor where it will get seen by guests the most? 2) In the second floor bath for the guest room (also used by daughter), where it will on occasion be seen by guests? or 3) In the second floor master bath where it will seldom be seen by guests?
