Hello everyone. I'm Mike from Long Island, NY. I am new to wet shaving. I got into it from buying a RHS (Rick Harrison special) lol, that I saw in the stores. I was using the Gillette fusion, I am primarily a shower shaver. My first couple shaves with the DE went OK, slight irritation. No blood loss as of yet! After reading on the forums, I have a soap sampler, blade sampler, and an Omega 10049 on order. I also came across a Gillette slim adjustable, that I have yet to use.
Welcome! You hit the ground running. Great boar brush, and the Gillette is a very good razor. Which blades & soap did you order? Next up; after shave!
Thank you all for the welcome! Blades: Personna red Astra platinum Wilkinson sword Super max titanium Rapira super steel Captains choice sampler: Bay rum North Lime Sandalwood
welcome friend...look forward to seeing your journey in wet shaving....a slim is a great shaver (or any gillette adjustable) and you did good by buying that as your 2nd shaver...read my sig. for the best advice I can give you as you start your journey to a new life/or rabbit hole.
Joe from Queens..makes shaving videos..now lives on Long Island. He's always talking and shaving about all the great restaurants and such you have there..welcome to the Shave Den!..
Welcome. The 10049 is a great brush, and you are off to the races with some good products. My only advice is to go slow on new purchases. I mean, try all kinds of things, but don't try something, get super pumped about it, then order a lifetime supply. Lots of people do that. There are great vendors who do an awesome job of selling samples, (Maggard Razors, for one) and TryaBlade.com is awesome for building your own samplers etc.. Good luck, and have fun.
