I know it may be to much to ask to be able to go to a fog free mirror after a hot shower. So what is good to put on the mirror to keep it from fogging up? I have not really tried anything yet so I thought I would just ask the group what, if anything works best.

HA! I forgot about this up until now! You just reminded me. I saw on a PBS show called Hailey's Helpful Hints a while back (there is a book by that title too by the same guy on the show), that if you wipe canned shaving cream on your mirror then wipe it off with a towel or squeegee it'll stop the fog. I can't remember the minor details like how long to leave it on (I think it was for just seconds) and if the foaming gel works or if it has to be the true canned cream. But I but you can google it or find it at the library.
Only problem is that I bet anyone who frequents this site doesn't have any canned stuff anymore!

I just rub a soap bar on the mirror and then rub it off with a dry flannel; works a treat.

I use my ancient can of Gillette Gel to de-fog the mirror...

Squirt some on a towel, wipe it on your mirror and its done, lasts a couple of days for me, only reason I keep it around. :happy102

I have tried the stuff that you can spray on motocycle helmets to defog the visor, but that wasn't really doing the trick....

After that I have tried the wax I use to polish my helmet with (spray it on & rub it of with a flanel cloth) and that works great!

Since the can of wax is empty, I just use a window wiper after the shower and that does the trick really well :happy088

Shaving soap works like a champ. If you get out of the shower and the mirror is all fogged up simply take some of the soap out of your mug or off your brush after you've lathered up and rub it directly on the mirror with the palm of your hand. Wipe it off with bare hand and then toilet paper. This should keep the mirror fog free for a while. If you see it beginning to fog that's your cue to do it again.

Thanks for the suggestions! The foam on the mirror worked great!

Turn on the exhaust fan? Crack the window or door? That's what works for me.

I've just been leaving the door open, but I guess that's not always a possibility.

Back in the days when I used to shave in the shower (with a cartridge), I had one of them so-called "fog free" mirrors.

It worked for about two months, and then it started getting all fogged up again. Useless!

I guess no one swims or dives. Saliva is the best anti fog.

Actually I used to dive and remembered that trick but my mirror is 4 feet by 3 feet and that would take a lot of spit!

    Spirits?

You have a benevolent spirit that does this for you? (as opposed to a poltergeist.) Former friend of the family or an ancestor?
