Hey folks. I've never tried MWF and I think I'm going to order some after hearing such great things about the lather thickness and its moisturizing qualities. I see that you can get it in the ceramic or wood bowl. The wooden bowl looks handsome, has anyone gotten one? If so would you recommend it?

I would recommend purchasing one of the refill pucks and see if you even like it. If you do, then the ceramic bowl is the classiest way to go even though you run the risk of dropping and breaking the lid. That is my take anyway...

    Ditto on PlanOfMan's comment.

The ceramic container is way cool! It tempted me ... and I was weak.

I looked at the wood bowl. Thought about it and then saw the ceramic and just couldn't say no to that. If you think the wood bowl is sharp though, I can't see why not. You can always get the ceramic down the road ;)

I got the wooden bowl the first time through because the site I shop at was as out of the ceramic. The bowl has stood up amazingly and still looks new over a yet later.

The nice thing about the ceramic bowl, according to those who have it, is that when you add water and put the lid back on, the puck swells and expands to fill the bottom of the bowl. I don't know if this is something you could do with the wooden bowl or not.

Edit: I just talked myself into ordering it with the ceramic bowl from bullgoose shaving.:ashamed001: This is a classic case of do what I say, not what I do. I still recommend that you try a refill puck before...ah, I guess what I'm trying to say, is do what you want!;) If I don't like the soap, I'll just use the bowl for TSD lanolin soap.

Yeah, I'd just finished weeding all the soaps out of my den, too. I'd had it on my want to try list for about three years now. I've got love for the creams, and I always keep some shave sticks for travel. I'll find out soon if it will stay in the bowl or get turned into a shave stick.

I have the wooden bowl from Connaught and it's still looking great on the third puck of MWF.

MWF! Good stuff, it's a great soap.

I bought some grated up samples for a few bucks to try it out - lathered up fine for me in ceramic bowl
amazing stuff - it exploded with lather - and the lanolin left my skin feeling very smooh

Nice. Yeah I've definitely decided that MWF will be my next soap purchase. Maybe I will spring for the ceramic bowl. My thoughts are that even if it runs out and I didn't care for it I would still have the container to keep using with whatever soap right?

Excellent! That's one thing I'm lacking is a nice soap bowl. I have a mug from gramps but it's not great, a little too deep for my lather technique.

It's not a little too deep...it just doesn't have enough soap in the bottom of it.

Where have you found good deals on the MWF in a bowl? Connaught? Bullgoose? Better deals out there?

West Coast Shaving, when they have it in stock, which is "never". Probably Bullgoose Shaving. Use discout code TSD.
