I've seen a few of these in antique stores...no name visible on them. Can anyone tell me anything about them?

This one was my Dad's...I'm sure he picked it up at a five and dime or somewhere for pretty cheap, was just wondering if anyone knew anything about them.

Not that I can help you with your question, but it's remarkable that I just saw that same handle in another picture. The author had just reknotted it with a silver tip and it looked fantastic. Wish I could find an old handle in good shape. Got to start looking harder.

You'll come across something. I found an Ever Ready 150 and a 79 at an antique store here...$9 for the lot of 'em.

Just set the knot in the 150 and waiting on it to dry (finest badger @ ~48mm loft). I have the floor set where I want it (I think) in the 79 and getting ready to order a knot for it (planned loft ~45mm).

Here's some before and what-has-been-done-so-far pics.

In reference to the original post- It looks to me like an Erskine. I have one with a translucent green handle on the bottom and a variation of the rubberized0type portion on the top. The stamp is very light (on the light colored potion of the handle) and gets rubbed off easily after use. If they had stamped the bottom it would probably stand the test of time... I may be wrong but that's what it looks like to me as I have one very similar and grabbed it when I saw your pic..

Thanks! I did a search and found a post on B&B of a similar model.

I have been over the whole brush with a magnifying glass and the only thing visible is on the bottom. It appears to say STE, then something something, then an E and maybe a part of a D. You have to hold it just right in the light and use the magnifying glass to even see that. Probably where it used to read "sterilized".

Next time I run across one at an antique store or somewhere I'll see if I can find any markings.

Edit: here's the best pic. I could get of what little writing there is left on it.
