All of my shaving hobby stuff has to be packed up. During the move, I will only have access to the absolute bare minimum.
This kind of event really makes you think about items that you really NEED rather than just "want."
    Boy, it's tough..

    What would YOU choose?
    One razor.
    One brush.
    One bowl.
    One cream.
    One aftershave balm.
...and you will be stuck with this decision for about 8 months.

Razor - standard 3-piece. less worry about mechanical failures
Brush - something well made that has proven itself as a n0n-shedder
Bowl - the one that among all the others seem to be just the right size
Cream - I seriously doubt you have a single tube or tub of cream that is going to last you 8 months. Grab one for now, order another when that one has about two weeks of shaves left in it; you want to allow for delivery time of the new
    Balm - see "cream" above

Yup, cream and balm will need replenishing.
Face lathering is a good idea. That will mean I can omit the bowl! Good call!

Me, I gotta have the bowl. Never have liked face lathering.
But, as I said, that's me.

You mention this will be for 8 months. Will you be constantly on the move, or settled into a temp place?
If on the move, I can see having less to pack each time, thus ditching the bowl. But if you'll be someplace semi-permanently, why not take the bowl?

I will be in the world's smallest camper at a build site in remote woods. But I will be with my sweetie, so I will still have to shave every day to remain "smoocnin' smooth" (which is somewhere between BBS and SAS). Otherwise I would go with the Jeremiah Johnson look and not bother shaving.

    My suggestions.
    3 piece razor
Several tucks of very good blades.
    A synthetic brush.
And a couple of sticks of ARKO.

Keep it simple. As said, nothing mechanical. Synthetic brushes don't need soaking, and I haven't had one that is a shedder. No need to carry a bowl, just face lather with ARKO.

I would have to have two campers. One to live in and one for shave stuff.

Razor - standard 3-piece, less worry about mechanical failures. e.g. Post-War BET
Brush - Two brushes would be better. If only one, then a synth for its quick drying capability.
    e.g. Simpson Trafalgar T2 or T3
Bowl - Gotta have the bowl. Never have liked face lathering. Either Timeless or Maggard plastic bowl brush rest
Cream - Proraso Cream (widely available) or Nivea
AS Balm - Nivea (widely available) or Stirling

    I packed:
    - 1960's Fat Boy (I think a TTO will be more conveniet than a 3-pc, since I take the blade out after every shave and dry it and the razor off). Adjustable will let me accommodate a variety of blades.
    - Simpson synthetic brush (I think it's a T1)
    - Taylor of Old Bond Street sandalwood shaving cream (face lather) that will become my shaving bowl for other creams when it's empty. (Sneaky strategy - I also tucked a tube of proraso in my bag when my bride wasn't looking.
    - Nivea aftershave balm.
    - Blades don't take up much room, so I stuck a variety in my bag. I got a bunch from Try-a-Blade, so I can experiment and at least have SOME hobby fun while living in shaving austerity!

    Thanks for your inputs, guys.
    The bag is packed!
