VS Which one gives a closer shave for someone who has a heavy and thick beard? Which one performs better and which one do you gents prefer?
Groundhog Day? The Feather is a beautifully made razor, machined from stainless steel, that is generally considered MILD and is capable of giving anyone with decent technique an excellent shave. Open comb razors, like the Muhle, are always going to be more aggressive but there's no guarantee that this will give you a smoother shave. The Muhles are die cast from relatively cheap Zamak, a zinc alloy, then chrome plated. There's nothing wrong with that but they won't have the longevity of stainless steel. An Above the Tie H2 is also a machined stainless steel razor built (and priced) like the Feather and comes with free shipping and a 30-day warranty. If you don't like it you can return it. You can chose from 4 different handle styles. If at any point in the future you decide you want something less aggressive you can buy a milder base plate from them. "H2 :The H2 Base Plate is the most aggressive of the open comb line with a .91 mm blade gap. When assembled, the Atlas H2 razor weighs in at 94 grams, total length is 3¼" This tool is wonderfully machined with very tight tolerances. The blade seats precisely in the head with symmetrical blade exposure. This razor is easy to master because the shave angle is very intuitive. In addition the razor "sings" like no other. This audible feedback is helpful in maintaining a proper shave angle. The Atlas H2 is a very efficient yet smooth shaver." https://www.abovethetie.com/collect...roducts/atlas-h2-stainless-steel-safety-razor
Either will do the job. Whichever one you have more time using and better technique using will yield the better results.
R41 all day. I love the AS-D2 for its craftsmanship and what a smooth shaver it is but its not going to mow down thick growth like the Muhle will.
Either will give a good clean shave. Could break tomorrow if you drop it, or it could last for 200-300 years.
