Today, I decided to unwrap the puck of MWF, which in November, I had sealed up with an ounce of Captain Black Cavendish Pipe Tobacco and a Madagascar Vanilla Bean. Here's the unveiled puck Separating the 8 wedges. The tobacco really adheres itself to the soap After cleaning off the tobacco, I chopped the soap up With my 58mm espresso tamper, I pressed the soap into an aftermarket container Naturally, I had to do a test lather Wow, the scent is smooth and silky, just like I remember from my first time doing this. Here it is, labeled and ready for tomorrow's shave. Look for the results tomorrow on my SOTD post. Thanks for reading.
Love it! Very intriguing as well. I love both the cavendish scent and vanilla. Sounds like a winner! Cavendish/Vanilla-flavored espresso?
I had a puck of this concoction, albeit without the vanilla, that I titaniced my way through last spring. Maybe it's my imagination, but this "brew" lathers FAR better than plain old MWF.
Broke out the MWF Hybrid and decided to take some pictures. Aside from the fact that I "infused" my puck of MWF with an ounce of Captain Black Pipe tobacco and Madagascar Vanilla, this is still a puck of MWF and I wanted to show my loading process. Disclaimer: These are pictures taken by a guy that "loads it to the max" and "blooms" his triple-milled soaps...you've been warned. I opened a fresh Polsilver SI and paired it with my birth year Super-Speed (1956), Well broken-in SOC Boar. Face lathered. You'll notice that the infused soap is a completely different color than MWF and has multiple cracks from lack of usage. A good soaking of my brush and soap whilst showering really loosen up that top layer of soap. I empty the bowl, squeeze out the brush and pour the "bloom" water into my bowl. After 15 seconds of loading... Some water added, about 75 seconds... First lathering getting there... You can see that the brush is saturated... Slick and nick-free... Left over after three full passes...I usually make a touch-up pass with this, but I wasn't "chasing the baby". I only have a few choices in this category, but I went with... The HTGAM AS & Balm. Hands DOWN! the best Cavendish AS scent. Great project, easy, and if you like MWF and Cavendish soaps, worth trying out. Thanks for reading.
Thought that I would bring this recipe back. It's a winner and I happen to have a LOT of MWF/Kent pucks...
