Hi! New to the forum and was advised I should upload my razors for all to see - haven't been in the game long but already managed to acquire 4 razors! (I think 7 is enough, hehehe...) Here they are - in order of purchase, Wacker Chevalier 6/8 in natural black horn, Thiers Issard Spartacus 6/8 Blonde Horn Razor With Points Design, Dubl Duck Satin Edge 11/16, and Koraat 14 2.0 in transparent acrylic green:
Welcome and wow! You have 2 of my favorite designs- the 14 and the Chevalier. Wonderful choice on the Koratt scales. Round it off with the Duck and that beautiful thumbnotched TI and that is a well rounded collection. Tom
Thanks Tom I'd like to get a few more Koraats, they seem really good! Next one will be amber scales I think but I haven't decided on shape of scales or blade type yet. I'd also like a perfect condition Dubl Duck Lifetime Reaper! Pretty cool looking things...
That Dubl Duck with the Grim Reaper is stunning. I've never seen one like it before. Any info on it??
No I just got that image from another forum some while ago and kept it to remind me! Is it hard to find them like that, in that sort of condition? (I imagine yes)
You definitely have nice taste! Those scales are highly desired, add a pristine blade, and you have what many consider to be the prized Duck.
Congratulations!! Nice razors!’ I’m going for a TI for my anniversary also. I also wanted to buy Korat with a belly but I ‘ m not sure about the performance of such razors. It seems yours gives you great shaves is that it? Thank you Enviado do meu iPhone usando o Tapatalk
Hi Yes it shaves very well straight from the maker but I haven't honed it and tried since... working on it though...
I'm going to sell my Satin Edge I've decided - was thinking of getting new scales made but... it sounds like a bit of a faff moving the inlays etc. Also, I've realized I don't like blades which are printed with graphics/text! Do you think it would be a bad idea to have the text removed from my Thiers Issard?
I, personally, wouldn't remove the text. If you're sure you want it removed, it's fairly easily done if it's acid etched. Not so much if it's engraved.
