Once upon a time I was a guy who was paid to write. This was a good time to be a writer as online outlets were exploding and anyone who could string together sentences with some degree of competence could get a job. Sadly for my writing career things like life, family, and other realities requiring a living wage and a stable working environment popped up and forced me to return to the wonderful world of 9 to 5. My desire to write did not disappear, but it became difficult for me to find the time and motivation to create anything. I began taking on freelance work to both supplement my income and to give me deadlines to work toward (a writer's creativity just can not compete against his laziness unless there are deadlines to meet). The freelance work helped, but it didn't allow me to write anything fun. That's when I decided to create a blog. I have been keeping a blog for a short while now, mostly as an outlet for me to write things which entertain me, but also to force me to write something as close to every day as possible. I had never really considered writing a blog before, but I figured that if it gave me a way to write whatever I felt like and a small audience to rant at, then it was worth the effort. At this point I have a handful of posts and I have gained a small following of readers, so I figure my blog is doing exactly what I wanted it to do. I still have to tweak some settings and do a little clean up work, but for now I am happy with the results. If you find yourself with nothing to do, then pop on by and read a few posts. Right now a good portion of my content is shaving related, but I also have a few fiction pieces and some general ramblings as well. Much of what I have is a bit rough, but I hope to expand soon and to add some more interesting bits of fiction. I am new to the whole blogging thing, so any suggestions or comments that you might have are appreciated. https://cryofthewildjabberwock.wordpress.com/ Enjoy.
It's great that you're writing. I've thought of writing a blog for years but have never followed through. I've also been a Douglas Adams fan since I was in 5th grade, and shipped off for basic training at the ripe old age of 17, where I learned all of the bad shaving habits (using cold water and going fast with Gillette products from the PX) that followed me right up until SWMBO bought me a shaving brush for my first Father's Day in 2011. In all honesty I found myself skimming over the Shave of the Day content, probably because I've been participating in that thread on this forum and find that it satiates my interest in that regard, but the other "life" stuff is great and you should keep it up! Maybe you could start including links to the relevant blog entry with your SOTD posts here, so that those so inclined could get more detail about your daily shaves. . . clicking a pic and then finding a blog entry about it might be kind of cool. . .
"The Bulgarians really know how to make a good cream and Ikar is no exception." I allowed myself to copy something from your blog, thanks for the kind words about our creams!
I'm glad that you liked my assessment. I call it like I see it, and I have yet to come across a Bulgarian cream that I did not like. I know it's a bit of a generalization, but I absolutely love Bulgarian creams.
