Happy belated Thanksgiving to all! Just an FYI...an old Harris SX-5 roasts a mean turkey on high at about 3hrs. Just use the “Jesus stick” to discharge the caps at the end of cook and check for done-ness.

A " Jesus stick" is a grounded rod with a insulated handle. Used to protect the person working on the equipment.
Its the black rod on the right side of the picture.
It is used to make sure there is no voltage in the transmitter by grounding the voltage after all the power is removed.
IF there is enough voltage it makes a bang, sometimes the tech called out the sticks name sake.
Other slang names for it is a widow stick or a bang stick.
I've heard of transmitters "cooking techs" occasionally and unintentionally.
I wasn't aware it could cook turkey so nicely.
