Ok, Here is my current (new) routine. I'm open for feedback and suggestions: Hot water, hot water, hot water Porasso pre-shave rubbed in till it's not evident Trumpers sample cream (my favourite is the lime so far) Whip it up with a synthetic brush (badger hair is the next buy!) Once stiff peaks are achieved with the cream lather on face and with circular motions work it into the beard and moustache area Second coat of cream Dovo shavette with long blades with the grain on the sides, down a bit of the neck, and side ways toward the mouth re apply shaving cream Dovo shavette across the grain on the chin, neck, moustache area re apply cream M3 against the grain to clean up Alum block Warm water and cold water rinse Trumpers sample skin food (my favourite is still lime in this case) Thats it! Last shave no nicks! My goal is to get the whole thing done with the shavette.
I'm not seeing anything wrong here (other than the M3 but since you're still working towards a goal, we'll let that one go ) Keep up the good work!
Sounds like you've got a pretty solid routine there. Personally, I would cut the M3 out. Even if you don't get a perfect shave without the M3 touchup, you're building up your skills with the shavette. I realize that's your goal - might as well shoot for it and make the shavette what you fall back on (instead of the M3).
