The postman dropped off a package from Japan today—a package I've been waiting for the past 10 days or so. In it was the Henckel Frodur—one I purchased an ebay seller overseas. The auction described the razor as,"Vintage Mint Friodur j.a. heckles zwillingswerk" and the photos revealed as much. Opening the package revealed a lovely razor… Blade is in terrific shape; clean, very nice….. Upon closer examination, there is some gunk at both the wedge point and pivot. May simply be residue polishing paste (!) but it will certainly require some clean up. Gunked-up pivot point…. Overall, the razor is in really good shape (blade, pins, scales)—particularly when it comes to ebay's rep for straight razors; but when one uses the term, "MINT" in an auction, to me this has the expectation of the item being in pristine condition. The good news is all these hopefully minor 'flaws' are easily fixable. just needs a little elbow grease. I'm excited about taking this razor for a test drive, post-cleaning & honing….
