His name is Dave. He's not on this board (I don't think). But his ID on EBay is ocrazorman, and on the B&B board it's closecut61. He is very reasonable. It takes about 3 to 4 weeks from the day you send it to him to the day you get it back. He also has a few restored razors on EBay at any given time. The most cost effective approach (IMHO); buy an old DE that has a lot of brassing (but no pitting) for a couple of bucks at a flea market and have it re-plated. Another scenario is you have a special piece (like a toggle or a birth year DE or a family heirloom) that you want to make better than new. He also does bright nickel (brighter than the original satin nickel finish), 24kt gold, silver, rose gold, 2 tone (dark nickel and bright nickel), and some other dark coating that I don't know what it is.
Great looking razor. I love my Rhodium plated FB. Once they come back so shiny and smooth they seem to just float across your face.
Dave at West Coast Razors did my 46-47 Aristocrat and 30's Bar Handle OC and did a beautiful job. I would highly recommend him. That Fatboy is gorgeous. Congrats on the replate, and she looks good for another 100 years or so!
That razor is "ABSOLUTELY" Beautiful!! Would you mind telling what the cost of the re-plate was?? Isn't ocrazorman located in the UK?
