Thanks to Weeper Warrior I now have a Super Speed. I just boiled it, soaked it in alcohol, and scrubbed it with metal polish. It's looking pretty good, and I put a Personna Lab blade in it for my shave with it in the morning.
Got to love the flair tips. Every time I shave with mine, I think it had to have been the inspiration for those late '50s cars with the big wings on the back. Enjoy!
Just had a shave with this 1958 SS... I don't know how to device describe the shave. It was good, no nicks, no blood, very smooth. But different from my Merkur. Like I was more in tune with my beard, and angle made more difference than with the Merkur. Overall very happy!
Congrats on the new razor. I should get around to picking one of these up and giving them another chance. I got pretty mediocre shaves with them, but I'm thinking it was just because I had the wrong angle/blade combo.
Also, I meant to tell you this earlier but here I go. Be careful boiling razors in the future. Boiling certain razors can take the plating off of them.
Yeah, I was just making sure you knew which ones were ok and which weren't. I'd hate to hear about someone ruining the plating on a razor because they didn't know.
