But when i try to shave with it It pulls pretty bad. I expecting it to shave with ever feeling a tug. will someone tell how a straight is supposed to feel when it in a good sharp condition?
No tugging. Edge will feel 'sticky' to the thumb pad, from toe to heel. Arm hairs should certainly pop at 'tree top' height, not just at the base. The HHT ("Hanging Hair Test") often has too many variables to be a truly consistent test of razor readiness. I've had razors do poorly on the HHT but provide very comfy shaves.
If it doesn't cut whiskers without tugging, the blade is dull and needs to be sharpened. The ultimate test of blade sharpness is " the shave test."
Ok, I will say it. Unspoken rules are still rules. It helps to see the razor, and edge you are getting. Also, what your setup is. Pics, or it doesn't exist...
Once the bevel is set on the 1K hone you should be able to strop and shave. The shave will be coarse but without tugging. The bevel set is an expression that refers to the two sides meeting to form a perfect Apex from heel to toe. It is easiest for me to judge that with a 30X loupe. With a bright light and looking nearly straight down on the edge, the edge should be near invisible without sparkling sections or a white line or segments of a line. Once you can get the edge shaving it is time to progress through the grits. When looking at the progress you look at the sides of the bevel and watch the stria from the current hone erase the marks from the previous hone.
I have razors tree top arm hair but give a rough shave.... it is not shave ready. It should not tug at all and should not feel rough, like a squeegee wiping lather from your face.
