So I've had this for a while and never really looked into it much until tonight. Long story short, I've always found straight razors fascinating and my girlfriend found this laying in the road while visiting a friend and surprised me with it. It's a wester brothers - de fi 34. Obviously the blade has seen much better days but otherwise it's in nice shape. Not really sure how to go about polishing the blade to get rid of the blackened look and bring back the shine. Any tips?
Any Metal polish such as Maas or Blue magic will help restore some luster—but as a functional razor, it's essentially useless.
Oh, I know. It's just a collectable. I would simply like to shine it up so it looks a bit better. Any idea how to determine dates on these?
