I was having a REDICULOUSLY hard time trying to find things that worked for my face... but things have been coming together QUITE nicely the last week or so... and to boot? with feather blades!!! im rather suprised at all this... the one blade i swore i would never go back to, has been working beyond comprehension to give me the closest, smoothest, and least irritating shave of all the shaves ive had previously... i just wanted someone to share the moment with, thats all :: :rofl but seriously, i now know the true meaning of baby-butt-smooth.... my neck, which is the most sensitive part of my face, right under the chin was the hardest for me to get, and it still has its little rough patch mainly because the direction the hair grows i have not found a good way to get the ATG pass just right yet... but other than that? im thoroughly impressed... and that blade? i think feathers are going to be my go-to blade of choice from here on out... the others ive used before were just so dull (im assuming) i was never able to get the perfectly smooth face afterwards.... even with 5 passes! with the feather? 3 passes... 3rd is usually just a touch up... and im BBS D heres a question, how many people here have used an alchoholic A/S and felt absolutely ZERO burn? and how often does this happen?
I am happy for you. :bounce Now are you certain that the razor is right and the cream and/or soap is right?
it sure feels like it... but what do you mean? the cream is about as good as i can get it... i usually like it on the thicker side, just seems more lubricating... the blade rarely ever nicks me now... and when it does, its relatively small..
Ill never forget the first time I used my alcohol a/s and didnt feel the burn. I came on here and asked Joe, if i didnt feel the burn i didnt tear up my face right? He confirmed what i thought. I was quite happy that I had stepped it up a notch.
People have often told me that they got the blade down pat only to find out that they were using the wrong razor or the wrong cream. The purpose for my comment here was to caution you that other aspects of the routine may be slightly off.:scared011
hopefully not... so far things are going great one thing i have been doing lately, is scrubbing my face with pure glycerine soap before lathering... and i dont even wash it off... i just leave it there and lather over it.. seems to be working
I can say the opposite, although I use it often after shaving. But when I haven't shaved for 2 days, I can still feel a sting when I splash on AS with alcohol. Even on my forearms.... Now, I didn't say I disliked it, it's refreshing and invigorating. But at least for me, it's not a good indicator of how well I shaved. Same thing with the alum block. YMMV, of course. For me, the real indicator is about an hour after I've shaved, if I can rub my face and not feel any stubble, AND not feel any soreness/irritation, then I got a good shave!
