I got this Trumper sample pack in the mail and I swear the Almond shaving cream smells like Marachino Cherries to me. So I opened a can of Almonds sniffed. Then I ate a few. I sniffed the cream again. Nope, still cherries. What the ???????????
Most Almond scented products are going to smell like maraschino cherries because maraschino cherries are flavored with almond.
That sweet cherry scent is often called marzipan and most almonds are a mix of the nut and marzipan. Trumper almond is almost all marzipan, so tends to be a love or hate thing. If you don't like it, you'll want a nutty almond scent. The Italian soft soaps have a mostly nutty almond scent and perform well. I'd suggest P.160 or Cella if you want to go this route.
I love that almond soap scent. I have a puck of Marvy's and it smells awesome. I haven't gotten it to lather worth a darn, but I sure like smelling it.
Clearly, I didn't either and never would have guessed. As much as I like Marachino Cherries on sundaes and in cocktails, I don't think I want that smell on my face. The rose and violet creams however... Fantastic!
