When I got my Toggle several years ago it was a steal, mislisted bad pictures and the lacquer had turned brown, so I got it for around $45. Once I stripped the lacquer is looked pretty nice, the plating was worn on the doors but that normal for a gold razor that's seen some use. About 2/3rds of the gold was gone from the toggle lever so I decided to buff it off. If I knew now what I didn't know then I wouldn't have used brown rouge but I did and right after I got the gold off I burned through the nickel to the brass:sad024 Well now since I've been having a lot of plating done I decided to have the toggle lever replated.
That replated lever looks sharp on that toggle. Great contrast. Of course that makes me wonder...I know you don't mess with TTO, but could a TTO that is easily dismantled be done or would the plating change the geometry of the mechanics too much?
