I had some time this afternoon and stopped in at PRC for a visit. They are in an old building without exterior signage. You have to know where to look. After ringing an outdoor buzzer, I was buzzed in and went upstairs and down a hallway to see this door. I went through the door to see a two chair barber shop and showroom. (I neglected to take a pic of the barber shop side of the room) I was greeted by Hunter who obviously likes what he does. Hunter gave me a tour of the production side of the business. The razor blanks are water jet cut offsite. Heat treatment is done at this table. Grinding is done on this side of what is an actually small room. Scales are made here. Pinning is done here. Strops are made here. It was a very interesting tour. PRC is a class act.
Of course I had to do some shopping. I was very tempted my this razor I ended up buying two aftershaves, a very nice looking brush, post-shave powder, and a very nice strop. I was week
Brian, thanks for sharing your visit to PRC, and congrats on your new acquisitions. You should have purchased the razor. I guess you gotta go back now.
Thanks for taking the time to write up you visit and share the photos. I think you showed tremendous restraint in not buying the razor. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That is very cool and nice of hunter to give you a tour so you could share it with us Brian. I was actually suprised that you didn’t leave with that razor, it is a beauty. But you did get a nice strop. Thanks for sharing this Brian.
I did that exact visit last summer, and it was Hunter who showed us around. Great people, interesting shop. The straight razor I got while there is still shaving well.
Thank you for posting your tour! I am hoping to get there this summer and you confirmed my choice of this trip!
