I Bought this lot of razors, with little to go on, for $25. I couldn't make out the Straight Razor manufacturers, just the two Durham Duplex Razors. There are 7 straights, with one having cracked scales. Any guesses as to what they are?? They should arrive next week. The one who guesses the most can have the Duplex Razors, or not. I don't need them. Its just that the suspense is killing me. Here are the best photos of them. Watch them all be Paki Razors. Only two hints in the sellers post, since he obviously doesn't know about razors. 1. No, the boxes don't match the razors. But, I see that one does. 2. Deceased Barbers personal razors.
CCC= Cattaraugus Cutlery Co 100% The Tonsorial Gem is the FA Clauberg 99% I can't make out the others regardless of how much I squint That one Top left might be stamped Diamond Steel, I have seen a couple of those over the years but damn if I can remember the maker
Yeah Cattaraugus is a Case Bros company so yes they are very nice they were best known for the Green Lizard series
Pretty sure the blade, two above the Tonsorial says Jessops with Steel underneath.Genco made a Jessop model, but there was a Jessops Steel that had possibly been made by Torrey. https://shavelibrary.com/w/Unknown_"Jessops_Steel"_5/8 Very difficult to see but there may be a Lees in there, above the Tonsorial Second last pic, blade on top seems to be a Tambour.
Interesting results. Some keepers, some will be put WAAAY down, on the might restore list. CCC. 11/16th inch blade. It's only on one side. Nothing on the other. Hopefully @gssixgun is correct. Jessop's Guaranteed Steel. 9/16th inch blade. Geneva Cutlery Co. Lessman Bros. Germany. 13/16th inch blade. Angelian Steel. (Never Heard of That????) This razor has never had a proper bevel put on it, and looks factory set. Tonsorial Gem. 6/8th inch blade. F.A.Clauberg. New York. Made in Germany Diamond Steel. 5/8 inch blade. International Cutlery Co. Solingen Germany This one had some dried up goop on it. But after this pic, I used Goo Gone, to better read everything, and its a very nice blade. Now, for the ones on the backburner. Damascene. 9/16th inch blade. C.Klauberg & Bros. 17 S.Williams St. New York. Slight frown, but salvageable. Horn scales in good condition. Overall, restorable. Challenge Cutlery Co. Bridgeport. 11/16th inch blade. This one is a goner(for me), suitable for beginners learning to hone and re-scale. I will knock the rust off of it, oil it, and put it away. Oh, and the 2 Durham Duplex Razors that might be going to @gssixgun .
