New blades, used blades, sharp blades, dull blades...

Here is the little project I worked on tonight. I got this nice little wooden box to put all my new blades in. I got an old hard bandaid box with flip lid. Then I cut a slit in the lid and glued a blade on the slit. Used razors fit right through the middle of the blade and fall right in. Then I made this image on the computer and glued it on and wrapped it with clear packing tape. :)

That blade bank is a great idea! I just might have to make myself one.

How did you cut the slit in the band-aid box? And what kind of glue did you use?

You should be! I'm not that creative, so I always just steal other peoples good ideas!

I used a dremel tool with the cutting wheel and did it that way. There's plenty of other ways to do it I'm sure. I just used what first came to mind. Lol....
I used superglue for the blade. The only problem with using the superglue is you got to be pretty fast. It's not as even as I wanted it but, as soon as I laid the blade down it was set. And set on my fingers too lol.

Superglue for the blade on top. Scrapbook glue for the image I printed. That could just be printed on lable sticker paper. I didn't feel like getting all that out last night.

    Lookin' good! :happy088:
Just a suggestion - put one or two desiccant packs (I use the ones that come in my vitamin bottle) in with the new blades. They will help keep your blades dry and corrosion free.

Very Nice. It is a shame they no longer make Band-Aid contianters in metal anymore because that is a very good and cheap idea. That will hold many more blades than a standard blade bank.

Great idea. I didn't think of that. And I live in florida so that's really important. Thanks. :)

I forgot to say that this one was actually a hard plastic one. I had three things to use. A old metal band aid, a plastic one, and a metal tea container. I like the idea of the plastic one. My family always kept that kind if stuff around to hold screws and nails and things like that. There's coffee cans everywhere lol
