So first of all, I would prefer to keep my name & age etc anonymous on this forum for personal reasons and I hope you guys will respect that. I will however let you know that I am between the age range 14-17 but wish to not give anything further than that.

Also I am very surprised there is a whole forum for shaving but this makes the whole question-asking thing a lot easier, which is really nice.

Now my question is - can I shave my legs using this - F2-3800LB-Power-Series-Shaver-with-Foil-Flex-Technology (if you search that there is a site, but i am not allowed to post links yet. it is on the remington site)

and also how well? This is the electric razor I have and I feel uncomfortable having slightly hairy legs during gym class and so that is why I am asking. That is the only time I ever wear shorts anyway so I am not bothered about day-to-day life.

Also do you think this is a normal thing to do? Is it weird?? Im a guy and openly gay but idk this is more of a reassurance thing I guess. if any other guys shave legs maybe u could let me know about that??

& Last of all, how would I go about this? Do it standing in the shower while water is running normally? Do I have to do it in a certain way and with the razor will it make my legs look weird? (I have gym class tomorrow and friday so I would probably have to stay like that if it messed up which would be very embarrasing for me)

Welcome to the Den! This is kinda a rough one to answer. We're mostly a community for wet shavers and more specifically traditional wet shavers. So we generally eschew electric shavers. I honestly haven't ever seen anyone on here who uses one. That being said, I used to shave my whole body when I was in high school because I was captain of the varsity swim team. So yes, you could shave your legs with an electric shaver, though I don't know how good the results would be. And if you use a cartridge razor or DE razor, yes, I recommend some sort of cream, gel, later, etc; as well as doing it while showering. Hopefully one of our female members will see this and have some advice though, as I think they would know far more than I. lol

Hope I was at least a lil helpful.

    It's this - http://www.remingtonproducts.com/me...-series-shaver-with-foil-flex-technology.aspx

so apparently I would probably have to stay away from water then. shoulda thought of that LOL

but will this do an okay result? I just want relatively smooth legs, I am not too bothered about being super silky smooth too much

to be honest as long as it doesnt make my legs look weird i wont mind. will that happen.. or??

as mentioned I would deffently recommend using a soap or cream with a cartridge or DE razor for best results. which soap/cream to use is a matter of opinion and you will get different answers out of everyone. also I don't think it would be weird for an openly gay man to shave his legs or whole body for that matter. if you were a lumberjack or something that would be a different story. electric razors are usually frowned upon around here but its your shave and we will help you as much as we can around here.

Sadly, couldn't tell ya. I've only tried an electric shaver 3 or 4 times and that on my face, to what I felt were poor results. Didn't seem to cut hair worth a wooden nickle. Other than that, I have always shaved with a DE razor. =/

I know that normal razors are probably better but I dont want to go out and buy one because that would be embarrasing and I don't want to ask my parents to either because my mum said to me when I asked about it a while ago "i dont think its normal really for boys to shave their legs.." so i dont want to ask again

I can understand how hard it
can be. But try not to be to worried or embarassed about it. And what is normal? People thought Einstein wasn't normal. Or Joan of Arc, Marie Curie, etc. And they were all amazing people. Normal is an illusion. There is no normal per say, for we are all different. =)

there are quite a few stores that sell DE razors lately like Sallys beauty supply, Meijers, Kroger. I don't know if you have facial hair or not but it would work for pretty much any body hair removal.

the electric razor does work well for facial hair but I am not a full-grown man and so maybe its not the same? so based on that would it work on legs as well or is the hair different or something

I don't see why it would not work. give it a try. I do know that in my case a blade gives me a closer shave and a DE razor will pretty much last a lifetime if taken care of. since you are shaving your legs I wouldn't worry as much about getting the closest shave possible so the electric should work.

Welcome. Still trying to understand why a 14-17 year old guy feels the need to shave his legs?

Does it really matter? Why does a 40 year old man want to shave his face?

Welcome! Don't use an electric razor on your legs. The only thing that's going to work on legs is a blade and some sort of cream/soap.

Just curious, I suppose. Guys used to do it in high school for swimming or prior to the taping of ankles...

True there. I think you will fine the trimmer to be less than remarkable for cutting the leg hair down to a length you can cut not to mention the time it will take the rotary blades to get all of the hair off. You might be spending more time going over stubble spots and hard to access areas than with any type of bladed manual razor.

    Welcome BTW!
