Hello everyone, I've been really interested in improving my shave experience with a DE but I have some concerns. I recently started using a brush and some quality shaving cream and I've enjoyed the difference so far. I still use a mach3 though. I have a slight tremor and I'm worried that I would get a lot of cuts from using a DE. I can take my time, and I'm generally a quick learner, I'm just worried about investing in a DE and having to quit using it if I can't do anything about avoid cuts from my tremor. It's really just a mild tremor though; it's the type of thing that most people don't even notice but occasionally someone points it out and when I hold my hand out straight it's noticeable. I don't see it affecting my shave with a mach3 too much, except for maybe causing me to want to hold the razor with two hands sometimes. I'd greatly appreciate any advice or direction. Thanks guys
Welcome to The Shave Den, a great community of guys and gals that enjoy wet shaving, I hope you enjoy your stay! Be sure to sign up for the May Newbie Give-Away for a chance to win some great shave gear! You'll find the Welcome to The Shave Den Master Sticky, put together by our very own Queen of Blades, will help you find your way around the forums. As far as your tremor goes, my 16 year old son suffers from them too, and he has been using a D/E for a couple of years now with no trouble. Of course I can't really compare how bad his is against yours, and at his age his whiskers are still pretty soft, but he has never suffered from, nor made mention of them during his shaves.
:signs046to the Den! I would think a mild super speed or tech would be no worse than what your using now as far as the tremors go. I'm sure more knowledgeable people will be around shortly to give advice.
Welcome to the Den! The main cause of a razor (cartridge or DE) slicing you is the blade going sideways across your face. A blade is a blade is a blade. If you can get by with out cutting yourself with a cartridge, I have no doubt you can be successful with a DE.
Thank you all for the welcomes and advice. I think I will be trying a DE razor after my next paycheck
