Hello. Here are my vitals: Name: Dave Age: 45 Marital Status: Divorced Kids: None [that I know about] Occupations: Damage Controlman, USN (Desert Storm Vet) Paralegal Hobbies:. Old movies, good books, traveling, community theater, 60s-80s rock, 60s-90s country, coffee Shaving history When I was 13, I asked my parents for a razor for Christmas and my dad said that I didn't shave but once a month, and all I needed then was too give the fix a sharp look. Still. I got my first razor, the Gilette Atra. I switched to the Gillette sensor during A school. Then came the Mach 3. I stayed with that until the blades increased in price while decreased in quality. Then in 2014 I switched to DE safety razor. First was the Micro Touch, the one with the guy from Pawn Stars on the front. About an year later, I got a Gentleman John adjustable. I gave up on DE razors and my marriage at about the same time and for pretty much the same reason [I did my best, but I guess my best wasn't good enough]. After that it was the Bic Comfort 3. I really liked those, but once again the quality of the blades went down. 12 cartridges at the start would last a year then suddenly they lasted 12 weeks. Then I switched to the schick Quattro. I liked those, but they are expensive My brother enrolled me one Christmas in the Defender Shave club that had the stupidest ring-style setup: I cancelled my membership after the first month telling then to send the rest of my subscription to an inmate who had almost, but not entirely pays off his debt to society. For the last three months out so I've been using Amazons Solimo razor. I've also heard highly positive opinions of the new Bulldog Bamboo handle razor, but haven't seen a need to switch yet.
Welcome to TSD Dave @Captain Daveman! Thank you for your Service. Glad you found us and I hope we can answer any questions you may have. Plenty of folks around with advice, opinions, even actual information. We do have a Forum specifically addressing cartridge razors where you'll find like minded people sharing. For the most part TSD Members use Double edge, Single Edge, and Open blades. Don't let them give you a hard time. If you are getting your face wet, using some kind of soapy lather, and enjoying your shaves you're one of us. Don't tell anyone, but I've even heard some guys still have their electric shavers (shudder!), but they only use them for travel. Anyway, look around, ask questions, join in the discussion!
