New member from Myrtle Beach

We got very lucky during the Hurricane. Yes, Myrtle Beach is a lovely place. I am mainly a DE with my favorite razors being Paradigm Ti 2 and Raw Razor. I do have a Blackland Sabre Gem Razor Level 2 that I have used twice and I am starting to absolutely love it. I don’t do straight razors.

 

Brush Acquisition Disorder has hit me bad. I have acquired a ton of high end brushes in a short amount of time. Probably 30 or more. My favorite being Declaration B5 with B6 a close 2nd.

 

B5 is an amazing knot. 100% agree.

 

You enablers are killing my finances. What does the B5 compare to? What characteristics does it have?

I don't think I can compare B5 to anything out there. It is very, very dense with soft tips but has good backbone and presence. The tips have a slight gel to them as well meaning they feel a little bit slimy, slick and clumpy. The density with the softness and solid backbone and presence are the stars. The knots are all individually hand tied by Scott at Declaration as well!!! B6 is a little similar but probably more gel like and not as soft with a little more backbone. Send an empty handle to Declaration to try the B6. The 24mm is $129 and 26mm is $149. Well worth the money for a hand tied knot that is very, very good!
