Personna now has a new 5 blade razor available at Costco. 20 Cartridges and a new handle for $18.99. It is a completely new design from the older M5 (orange in color vs. Blue for the new design). the older M5 was not great, but this one is a game changer. Obviously the cost is a Gillette killer at less than a buck per cartridge. The new head design is good, and the shave is very comfortable. I would say actually too comfortable such that the head is too springy and requires multiple passes sometimes. But the gentleness of the shave is notable, and I get a shave that is equivalent to the Fusion. The M5 does not have a power option, which I really would like. But notwithstanding, I am sold on the price and performance.

I don't know why this new model is not advertised yet on the Personna website, nor can I find it anywhere else but Costco. None the less, I don't care because it works for me. I would say for less than 20 bucks, this new razor is worth a try.

I have only been using it for a week, and will continue to update my experience.

Wilkinson/Schick is now in a position with the acquisition of ASR to go head to head with Proctor and Gamble (a.k.a. Gillette). This seems to bear this out.

Truth be told, I get flawless shaves from Gillette's newest 5 blade vibro-creature, the few times I've used it. I gave the sample I got in the mail to the wife. She/I/we would be willing to try the Magnum, as that is a considerable savings over Gillette's.

I was at Target today and had to go through the shaving aisle for giggles and grins, and yowzers!! the fusion prices have increased from the last time I bought some if I'm not mistaken. $20.00 for a pack of 4.

i still like the new m5. i have found the shave very good, but a little more time consuming than the Gillette power. but for less than one third the cost, good riddance to Gillette. i can live without the power.
