Rubberset has cracks. Planning on stripping and staining and polycarbonate. I have redone 2 and these three make 6 inline to be redone. Looking at different knots. I like the stained look with either synthetic or so far badger finest hair. May use others knots.
Man, you go three nice brushes to work with. It's fun to bring the old brushes back to life. I'm looking forward to seeing the results.
I'll sure show them. It's relaxing. I actually have 2 done but one is bad. Then I have one certifyd that is awaiting a knot and a small rubberset too that is waiting on a knot. I am gonna try them out. The rubberset waiting on a knot I put polycarbonate over the original paint with the cracks and chips and all to keep it original as I could. I'm interested in seeing what it finishes out like.
I was keeping an eye on two of those, but decided to let them go, glad you got them so I can see how they turn out!
Boy do I feel foolish! Polyurethane! So sorry! I stain them put several coats in between fine steel wool.
I haven't measured them just yet. Just got the knots out. I got all three of those brushes. Just haven't messed with the strongset yet.
I've used Tru‑Oil on many things over the years, it's just a wipe on varnish, easy to use, a little more amber colored than poly. Go for it!
Ok. Got them stripped and stained. Polyurethane tomorrow and order knots. I am going to put them on as I go.
