I know there are many Proraso Green fans here, and at one time, I was one also. Then for a long time, I just could not stand the stuff. Maybe it was the scent, maybe it was the skincare, I don't know. Recently Ludovico Martelli, the producer of this shaving line introduced a new reformulation of the Green version, and let me tell you it is wonderful! Ease of lathering: 10/10--A small amount of cream explodes into fabulous lather. Longevity of lather: 10/10--So stable and solid. Multi-passes are no problem. Great blade glide also. General skincare: 9/10--Just as cooling, but the moisturizing is so much better now. Scent: 7/10--The same eucalyptus/camphor/menthol deal as before. It's ok. Price: 9/10--6,50$ CAD won't bust your bank account. A 150 ml tube will last a LONG time. Would I buy again: 10/10--Oh, for sure! There you have it - Proraso Green and I are the best of friends again!
I have not used the new formula proraso green, but I love C.O. Bigelow cream, which I understand IS the old type proraso green, guess I will have to buy some and try it!!!!
Yeah, now he tells me, right after my wife just picked up 3 tubes of C.O. Bigelow with some of her soaps during their sale. I figure I have enough software to last me until the next Proraso reformulation.

Do I have a bad tub? Mine smells nothing like the old stuff. I smell soap and nothing else. The pre-shave actually has the scent I'm looking for. I hope it's just a bad batch or something!
I think you have a bad tub. I recently bought the new green and it's much like the old formula however slightly subdued and not so much a Koala bear farting in your face with the Eucalyptus scent.
This is the first cream I bought. Awesome stuff, love the cooling feel of the menthol, especially when I re-lather for the second or third pass. I'm able to produce a decent lather even with little-no experience for 2-3 passes only using a small dab of cream. My brother started using it too because I let him try it so i could practice producing lather and he thought it was amazing. Now if I could only get him to stop using carts. One step at a time I guess.
Exactly. One step at a time. Your brother will come around to a DE when he feels he is ready. This new Proraso Green cream indeed is magnificent.
So I've read a few more reviews and it seems like I'm not the only one with this problem. Either I'll accept the fact that I have a bad tub until I can prove it by getting another (or a tube to check it out!), or accept the fact that I like the scent of Koala bear farts! All kidding aside, if you were referring to that strong Vick's Vapo Rub scent from the old formula, then yes that is what I'm seeking. Hopefully that's still what there hoping to produce, and I would be inclined to think so since my new formula pre-post shave is the same scent as the old one. Can't say that for the cream.
Basically the new formula green is a slightly more subdued version of the old. There should be no real difference in scents at all. The new cream smells identical as well so getting a tube of that would work too. I believe some vendors also have the small 75g tubs of green which will help you get a better idea if you really do have a bad tub or not.
