That video is what convinced my son-in-law to become interested in traditional shaving. He showed it to me after I had already started. I love the retro feel to it, reminds me of hygiene videos we watched in grade school in the 60's-70's!
My understanding is that Teddy Roosevelt started the 'badger hair brushes' craze during his days as a Rough Rider in the Spanish-American War, when he would start each day by shaving with an actual, live badger. At least, that's the way I heard it.
This article on Art of Manliness is what got me interested in wet shaving. I didn't see the video until after I had already started using a DE, but I always show it to my coworkers when I am trying to convert them from their cartridge or electric razors. I have converted two so far!
