After 40+ years (let's not be too specific) of blindly following Gillette's production of every cartridge razor they developed (over the years I bought their marketing programs hook, line and sinker without exception!), I decided to try a DE, primarily to find an alternative to the razor burns I constantly experience and to possibly eleviate the morning boredom I have with the multiple cartridge razor, pressurized canned goop and severely reddened neck (at times I couldn't tighten my tie my neck was so sore from the grab, tug, pull and cut system). I am here to learn how to shave properly, safely and to try to gain some enjoyment from this daily activity; comments and slurs welcome, particularly any and all advice concerning a clean shaven neck without razor burn, thanks and I look forward to learninf a great deal from you that are experienced in wet shaving.

Welcome to The Shave Den. Lots of nice and helpful folks here. Ask your questions and you will get answers and hopefully you will find what works for you.
Welcome! You will find all kinds of good information here, I did. For your neck, just take your time, make sure to shave with the grain first pass, and don't use too much pressure. Let the sharpness and the angle of the blade do the work for you. Before I started shaving with a DE and now a straight I used to get ingrown hairs and bad razor burn. Not any longer, so your going to be very happy once you get used to it. Good luck!
