Hi, My name is Bob and I'm new to this site. I've been shaving with a double-edge razor for about 12 years. I revolted against the high prices of cartridges and asked my Dad if he had any of his old safety razors. He gave me a Gillette Slim, Super Speed, and Schick Krona. I've used them ever since, but only recently became 'interested' in shaving. My technique was pretty crude before - I'd use canned goo or shave in the shower using the bar of soap on my face. My low point was using an ancient brush (from my Dad) and face lathering using Soft-Soap hand soap from a dispenser. So you can imagine how much I'm enjoying using proper products. I went through a number of razors, but now my interest is with single edge razors by GEM and Ever Ready. Regards, Bob
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I posted a review of a new Brush Scuttle that Julie Moore of Dirty Bird Pottery made for me. I wanted one with a cone-shaped chamber for the brush and worked with Julie to com up with this: http://www.theshaveden.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8344 I have the prototype and it works great! Thanks again, Bob
