Hello all! Just joined TSD a few days ago and just now discovered how to post I've been traditional shaving for about a year now, but never really got into the forums until lately. I've tried quiet a variety of shaving paraphernalia, but my great addiction is without a question to razors. I have a Feather AS-D1 (my favorite), Muhle R41, and Merkur 39c Slant to name some of my more interesting acquisitions. I also have a Feather Artist Club RG, with which I have had great shaves and lost much blood Just a few weeks ago I placed an order with Charles Roberts of Enchante for some of his Hydrolast product. I've been gathering what information I can about Method shaving and am looking forward to trying his stuff for myself. Anyone words of wisdom from proficient Method shavers are welcome as I learn to use this new system. Looking forward to talking with you all in the future and Merry Christmas!
to TSD "zec668".........hope you enjoy it here.... A VERY "MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR" to you also!! Like your doing now and probably most of us did I studied "method shaving" and watched many Charles Roberts video's...I just never could warm up to it...here's why; It's proprietary and rather expensive I felt his vid's had a rather Gillette cart razor hard sell to them, like there is basically only two ways to DE shave.... his way and the wrong way.. In my time here I've discovered there is no "BEST" way for everyone to shave..There is only the "Best" way for you to shave" and all those "BEST" ways are unique to the individual... Sorry I couldn't be of more help to you, "GOOD LUCK" on your method shaving and after you give it a try please review it for us and let us know what you think and how it worked for you....
Thanks for the kind welcome all! Thank you for your input on Method shaving 178-bplatoon and understand your reservations towards it. I have an incurable case of wanting to try new things and wanting to continue improving my shaving experience, which is why I decided to try out Mr. Roberts' Method. I have spoken to Charles twice on the phone and have really been impressed with him as a salesman and can tell that he passionately believes in his products. I believe that is where many of his seemingly condescending comments come from. Not trying to make up excuses for things that he has said, but I think it provides a bit of context since he has been extremely helpful and courteous to me on the phone. I can also tell he loves wetshaving and thoroughly enjoys helping people get better shaves with or without his products. I've heard many good things about his products, but I believe even Charles himself would say that if your getting good shaves already you don't need Hydrolast Even if Method shaving really works well for me, I find it hard to believe I'll be totally giving up my soaps and creams. I will also be making a detailed review of my experiences
