I've been shaving for almost 40 years, but only truly began shaving a couple weeks ago. Picked up a Merkur 23C (long handle), and samples of blades, pre-shave oils, and shaving creams, and have begun the process of figuring out what is MY setup. My shaving experience has gone from "getting this over as soon as I can" to "wish I had more time to do this;" it really is therapeutic, and I am a full fledged convert...and it appears I'm going to be a shaving addict as well - just purchased 2 Rolls razors and a Merkur Solingen from an eBay seller, and find myself scouring forums to educate myself on this new experience. Anyway, thanks for all the future help I'll be requesting.
Thanks everyone - I'm loving this site, and learning so much just having lurked until now. Can't imagine how much better it will be as I become more active here.
to TSD Shamrock.......I hope you enjoy it here.... on your decision to try "traditional" shaving...I think you'll find it "VERY" rewarding!! Double on getting 2 Rolls Razors....I can see your RAD is moving along nicely.. Like you I shaved for over 34 years (10+ days a month) mostly for work and in all of that time I "HATED" shaving...It was an expensive, painful, unrewarding experience and I absolutely looked forward to retirement and "NEVER" having to shave again.. Until around 2 years ago I discovered "traditional" shaving!! Well I've since retired, but I now shave "EVERY SINGLE DAY" and "LOVE IT"!!! I hope you come to enjoy shaving as much as I now do....
Ugh, a Spartie LOL. (Lived 25 years in MI, and am Maize and Blue through and through). Well, props to a good year for that school up north...looks like beating the Buckeyes is our bowl game this year - on to next year sigh... Thanks for the welcome tdmsu (This concludes the hijacking of my thread...carry on)
Welcome to the den! I feel the same way about what shaving use to be about. Now. My whiskers can't grow fast enough.
