Appears I’m late to the party, but welcome.
Wait. You have a Razorback for an avatar and just called where you live “Aggieland”. Depending on where you are from, either of those could be hangable offenses in All of AR and part of TX.

I'm stuck deep behind enemy lines. I was born in a small town in Arkansas and then about 3 years ago moved to Aggieland. Better economic opportunities and more family here.
I like it here for the most part, until I find good pork bbq it just won't be home.
So far however, no one has shown up to castigate me, so I think these Aggies are decent folks.

Says the “Baylor” “Gator”... Big 12(SWC) v. SEC?
It’s closer than you think, you are in BBQ Country for sure, all the way to West of I-35.
I bet you’re missing Whole Hog Cafe and others like it.

When I went to Baylor, buth A&M and Arkansas were Southwest Conference rivals.

Now, although not rivals, they happen to be in the SEC with my Gators.

I will look up the Whole Hog Cafe for sure.

The brisket is great, but there is just something about a pulled pork sandwich that is rooted deep in my DNA.
Ahhh, the old SWC. I'm just a youngin, but still olde enough to remember when the SWC broke up, and Arkansas went to the SEC, that was a tremendous move on their part.

Whole Hog Cafe is in AR. I have some of their rub, was fortunate to have them share their slaw and potato salad recipe.
Franklin BBQ in Austin is tasty. Lockhart, TX was the Texas BBQ Mecca, home to the Trinity, for years, but there has been an upturn in good BBQ joints since 2008.
    Truth in Brenham
    Fargo’s in Bryan
    Blue Moon in Hearn
Snow’s in Lexington is worth the drive according to one of my buddy’s comments.

And your not too far from Brenham either. But these aren’t like AR or “Memphis in May”.

Nothing like "Memphis in May" great food!
I don't really mind brisket, but I PREFER pork with a sweet sauce.
