When you get to be my age, any scent you put on is an old man scent. :happy102:

I get powder from anything Pineaud. Some are more mild, but if your wife dislikes powder, I would look elsewhere.

My wife who sounds like yours, really likes some of the following Stirling scents:

    -Green
    -Black Pepper Lime
    -Piacenza
    -Gin and Tonic
    -Sandalwood

All of the straight Citrus scents from Stirling are just that: Straight citrus. Like most pure citrus AS, they tend to fade rather quickly, but are excellent.

Whenever I put on AV or OS I get the comment " you smell like my dad" not really the reaction I'm going after LOL

I have the Pacific Rush, but it's way too much menthol for me. After i put it on I couldn't smell anything but the menthol LOL

Nope...those scents trigger nostalgic thoughts from her childhood. And her dad still wears those scents so .... They are a no go

I do not think "old man" is so much of an insult or term of distaste, as opposed to "I don't feel like being intimate with my dad and Uncle Einar."

That's where I come down on "old man". To me, your essential "old man" is a man who's been around in life-a man who, more often that not, shows positive characteristics, such as being dignified, calm, good-natured, being "in-charge" but in terms of leadership, not being bossy. And, of course, he still enjoys the timeless fragrances for his personal hygiene.

True that - not exactly what we're after :D

There's a saying that women go for men, unintentionally, that reminds them of their dad. But to downright make it obvious to them, that we smell like the old man is not a big plus... lol

So, @Linuxguile, where did you end up on this? I don't know if it would be in your / her taste, but I think just about anything from Chiseled Face Groomatorium's selection very well may be acceptable to her, and by the transitive property, you. They are unique and pleasingly modern scents. Perhaps some samples would be in order.

I'm surprised the Fine Accoutrements splashes haven't been mentioned? I haven't tried all, but at least the Fresh vetiver, L'orange Noir and Platinum should do the trick?
