I just found this Gem and was very surprised at the great condition it was in and thought the single edge shavers would like to see a NOS Gem Jr.

Is that the one that sold on the bay a week or so ago? I have a set like that coming in but not in that good of shape. No paperwork with it either. Nice looking set.

This is pretty cool timing. I just picked up this razor (not my picture - downloaded it):

    shave star double edge.JPG

It is essentially the same case - they just have the different name on it. Even the cardboard shipper is pretty much the same. The razor in this case is a double edge however.

I found this razor in North Carolina at a little antique store for 5.00 and a few other razors for about the same price.Ill post some pics of them in a few days.

I was very much thinking about picking one of those up on a BIN.. I just do not need another DE:D

I do like that case though. I will have two of them with SE's when the other one gets here.

Yeah it is a pretty cool case. I found that until I got the hang of opening it up, they are kinda childproof!! Took me a bit to get it open!

They seem like some sort of plastic, not bakelite. I am not sure of the date of the DE. The blades only have two transverse slots not four, not sure though if that makes it early 30s or not. Looking for a date. Wonder about the Gem too.

Excellent finds, I like my single edge. My mrs thinks I am nuts for using a single edge - sort of minimalistic she says. Think about it one single blade with one single edge is really all you need to shave with.
