Thank you! I was afraid to mention this, but i think gold makes razors etc. look horrible... Please don't ban me mods :scared001
There will be a correlation between the value of gold and the cost for plating services, and besides, I just noticed that those were 2007 prices, so they are probably higher now. Apples and pears? We say apples and oranges over here.
$60.00!!!! No, you can get that gold look for 7.95 US plus shipping and handling. http://www.theartistsdepot.com/KrylonSprays2.htm :happy102
Nice Gold Rick! I have to say I am another that would prefer a non-gold razor, but if it is only available in gold, or rare in gold, I want it anyway. Personally, I like my razors best Rhodium plated.
Hmmm.......attempting to kill a fellow member..........might be a ban-able offense. :think002 :happy102
+1 I didn't care for gold razors at first, but once I started acquiring a few of them, it was all over. Too bad you gold haters will never know the pleasure of shaving with a US Aristocrat or a Toggle -- two of the best Gillette razors ever made IMHO.
Well i do like goldbars and goldnuggets, so i'm not a complete hater I've just seen too many of these to truly appreciate golden items...
That joke just got better with every response! I think Gold Razors look great when the gold is intact, but the minute it starts wearing off they look horrible. I have a very mint Diplomat that I landed by pure dumb luck and it is beautiful. I'm afraid to use it though because I don't want to hurt that finish. Honestly I'd say it is 99.95-99.99% condition. Oh and BTW, I've seen several De Soto's rolling around Iraq! Can you believe that?:happy102
That is my fear. There is a rare silver colored President that looked for all outward appearances as a 1948-50 Aristocrat with a nickel colored plating that this same person has duplicated a few months ago, so there are multiple forgeries already out there. Look very close at any future auctions, and of course as always, buyer beware!!
