I don't know if this happens with safety razor users but I get this with my straight razors. Shaving removes a lot of dead skin. With a straight razor, your skin is really exfoliated by the blade. If I don't shave for a few days, when I finally shave again, I can see dead skin on the blade. I wonder if the straight razor does such a good job of exfoliating, that it makes the dead skin that much more obvious when it comes back. Anybody else experience this?

actually....if you happen to shave a patch dry...just to like judge honing and what not...you see a HUGE amount of skin that is actually removed. At least I do.

On a side note...I moved this to skin care...because after all....this is a manly way to exfoliate :p

Same happened to me too when I was testing my first honing job the other day.

I quit using facial scrubs when I started shaving more consistently with a DE, because exfoliation by the razor did a better, and more gentle job than the abrasive scrubs I used to use.

I notice it a lot in the winter unless I use a moisturizing ASB. That seems to cut down on the dead skin bit.

You can always tell people that you don't shave. You cut the skin off your face and the hairs just come with it. Should be good for a few shocked faces and a laugh or two

I notice the same thing too, if I don't shave for a few days more dead skin cells are removed when shaving.

Try shaving with just water, removes a lot of crap! You can't see it as well with lather, but it's there.

Since I started straight shaving my skin has been feeling much better, must be the daily exfoliation.

Trevor Ooh dream razor. I believe you can get me through

I noticed that i had what looked like little white spots(dead skin)that the razor scraped off. i went and bought an exfoliating scrub and moisture balancing foam face wash. I feeling fresher and i can see a noticeable difference in my completion.
