Thankfully I can say that my experience is better than yours with this product. I really enjoy my Cella shaves and they end up being some of the best results as well.
I just used Cella for the first time ever last week and I thought the product was great. Cella, along with RazoRock XXX, allowed me to sell off my excess TOBS creams.
I love cella too. I've been using it constantly for around 3 weeks now. Every shave has been a pleasure but I'm getting a bit bored of its scent now.
Cella airy and light? really? I've heard complaints about the scent, but never about that. Maybe try using a lot more product?
DNFTT, DNFTT, DN... oh I can't help it & I haven't even tried TOBS but here it goes anyway... Cella > TOBS or if you like... TOBS < Cella
Big Cella fan here , one of the richest and creamiest lathers around for a $10 Italian import, never complain about Cella, we can want for nothing.
Have never tried Cella. Tempted to get the enormous kilo block but with ten soaps/creams on the go, wastefulness and greed are the two words that come to mind. It's Christmas so I'll try to resist the temptation. Hanzo, if you like it, it must be good. How would you compare it to Proraso? Could you draw any comparisons at all. So far I'm sitting on Omega cream, Proraso Menthol, Valobra menthol and Valobra Almond, La Toja stick, Bea stick, Brinell, Rayon. I also know Faulding cream, Proraso white soap and Palmolive green cream. Thanks!
I 've always bought the small container of it because thats what was first introduced to us here in the States. In Europe I would think the kilo is inexpensive. I have read on another forum from a trusted source that the kilo can be stored in an airtight container and kept for many years in a cool dry place without becoming rancid . One member here said the kilo differed and was better than the small container, don' know for sure about that. It seems closer to Valobra than Proraso but since I have used Cella more over the years I think it better than Valobra , I have even mixed them together haphardly. I'd definitely say that no matter the number of soaps and creams you have it still is worth getting Cella , to me its a really excellent soap.
The Italian Barber has the 1kg block as well as a 125g slice off a block for good prices. The 125g option is good if you don't want to have to store the entire block.
Used this for the first time this morning. The smell and lather were amazing. I will definitely purchase this again!
Cella is a fantastic soap, one of my defaults. I've just finished my 150g tub and am about to get a 1kg brick to split with another Aussie wet-shaver. I've got a 1kg brick of P.160 that I have stored in an airtight plastic container in a cool dark spot and it is showing no signs of ageing after a year so I'm sure that the Cella would be the same. I've never found it light and airy and I would rate then - P.160 > Cella > Figaro - but there is not much in it between any of them. I wouldn't bother with P.160 if you haven't tried it, just stick with the others and if you can get one cheaper - grab it. 'Light, airy, thin' suggests to me too much water - use more product sir! All these almond/marzipan soaps remind my wife and I of 'Perkins Paste' a strong childhood memory for Aussies of my era. Not sure if anything similar was available anywhere else in the world.
I really enjoy my Cella! I do rotate my italian soaps and creams, but always glad when its Cella day! My son on the other hand really enjoys Proraso, both soap and cream.
