Many of you have probably seen this already. To a newbie like me, this is a fascinating website: http://www.oldspicecollectibles.com
Yes, I just happened to use that site last week to ID my OS mug as a Early Mug 06 - 1961-1964. Informative site.
Thanks for reposting, it's a great source of information. I found it when I was trying to ID my own Old Spice mug: http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/old-spice-mug-treet-se-stahly-in-the-wild.48262/
I used it when I find my old Spice mug on the wild. Then again when this was gifted to me last month. It was full and a huge difference in fragrance than what is in the drug stores today. ... To be continued... Don
I got one like that, a month or two ago. It's in my reserve stash. Out of sight, out of mind. I only have about 5 bottles of Shulton, so I use it only on special occasions. For me, the Avon Spicy is very very close in scent, cheaper, and easier to find. So Avon gets used more.
They are decanter splash bottles and not sealed. Air, light and heat are enemies of fragrances. Mine is kept in its' box in the drawer with my other favorite fragrances. I would keep them in the fridge but SWMBO will have none of that. You may consider using them occasionally before the fragrance goes bad. Nothing lasts forever. The box is from 1991. I also received an empty OS telescope decanter bottle from the 70's. ... To be continued... Don
I've found the old spice lasts a long time, without special care. I've got some that's circa 1956, and still smells awesome. Not as strong as the newest Shulton I have, but still very good. Most are still in their original packaging, stuffed away, in a drawer.
