I really don't use any razor daily, I rotate. The oldest in my rotation would be a 1914 GEM and a no date code Super Speed/Rocket. I did happen to use a 1938-39 Senator yesterday.
1908 Gem Junior lather catcher, and no, I don't use the vintage blades. Generally Gem Blue Star or Pellas if I have them.
Here's my recent rotation: 1912 model GEM Junior - year unkown Gillette Silver Old Type Bulldog - 1920 Gillette Gold NEW DeLuxe - 1930
Too be honest, though, the NEW DeLuxe seems to get picked up slightly more than the other two combined. :ashamed001
UPDATE.. I just received a email from Dave. He advised that one of my superiors is actually a 1900 model. WOOHOO!! Did not notice that for some reason. So my oldest is the 1900 model Superior Lather Catcher. Fuzzy
I have this one the way and will probably be my oldest. Will it take modern blades? I didn't mention my 1905 double ring earlier cuz I don't use it.
I would guess that it will l not use modern blades. could be wrong though. What year is that one Scotty Fuzzy
Scotty offered to buy this for me off ebay, I do not have an account. I am glad he bought it. It is a great and rare find. A Star in this condition, good job Scotty. It will take a modern DE, you may need to shim the blade but a modern DE should work.
That was nice of Scotty to do for ya. Way to go Scotty :happy088 One of these days I'll be able to acquire something like that.....one of these days. That is awesome.
I haven't taken my own pictures of it. It is one of Traveller's restores. I LOVE IT!!! Thread here: http://travelersrazors.com/forum/index.php?topic=30.0
I reckon my Fatty Tech is the oldest EDU razor. It is 30's or 40's. I have some that are older, but they do not get used much.
I tell people all the time about those old NDC Fatty Techs. They are a great shaving razor. I do not care if you are a novice or a old dog like me. A good shaver is a good shaver.
Very very nice.. I have not shaved with a straight in forever use to use them a fair amount strangeeee Fuzzy
