I am totally right handed. In fact, my left hand is almost useless for anything. I've noticed that I seem to be able to shave the left side of my face closer than I can on the right side. I hold my razor in my right hand when shaving my face. I expect that I am getting closer shaves due to the angle I get when reaching across my body and I'm not getting a good angle with my right hand on the right side of my face. Are you ambidextrous enough to use either hand when shaving your face?
I am ambidextrous but for some reason I shave right handed. I think I do this because my father tried to force me to be right handed while growing up. I believe with more practice you will eventually overcome the angle problem.
I am a natural southpaw, but I shave using both hands without issue on the same side as the hand or the opposite side of the hand. Since I head shave that is a big plus.
I am a lefty and find my right hand to be practically useless for tasks requiring dexterity. I used to shave with only my left hand using a DE razor. For the straight razor, I've learned to use both. It simply takes patience and practice. I now will sometimes use both for DE shaving as well, now that I'm a bit more confident AND competent.
I can hear and feel that the angle is not the same when my right hand is on the right side of my face. I was aware of it tonight and tried to get the same sound by changing the angle. Closer today than yesterday. Guess it will just take time and taking my time.
I have similar experiences. I've tried shaving the right side of my face with my left hand, but I need more practice.
So Sara, to quote a Golden State Warrior player years ago who claimed he could dribble equally well with either hand, you are truly "amphibious."
Leftie here also. Haven't tried shaving with right hand, but I have thought of it many times. Mainly because I get better shaves on my left side than the right for some angles, and vice versa.
I shave equally well with left and right hands thankfully. I shoot bow left handed and shoot firearms predominantly right handed. I'm so confused.
I shaved my right jawline and cheek with my left hand this morning on the second pass (XTG) and shaved the right side of my neck with my left on the 3rd (ATG) pass. Definitely a different feeling, but, no nicks or weepers or anything like that. The shave was much closer than it has been, even on my neck. I just took my time and of course, said a little prayer!
I lather and shave the left side of my head and face with my left hand and lather and shave the right side with my right hand. It doesn't feel natural at all to try and reach around with only one hand to do those tasks.
Yes! I shave my left side with left hand and right side with right hand. Shaving exclusively with 1 hand feels very unnatural to me. I'm a lefty by nature, growing up in America in the 60-70's right hand world (school desk for right hand writers) never worked for me. Thus causing me to adapt.
