After opening the Traveling Box, I noticed it had a One Blade Core razor in it. I like the looks of it, but not the Feather blades. Then I remembered a video about a hack to use Gem style SE blades. I found the video and decided to try it out. I de-spined two blades, one to act as a shim, that I ground the edge off with my Wen rotary tool. Blade on the left, 1st pic. You can either put the shim under or over the Gem blade, and insert them evenly into the razor. It seems to me that this also helps make the razor a bit of an adjustable. Putting the shim under the blade seems to make it have a larger gap, while putting the shim on top makes for a slightly smaller gap. It's not too noticeable, but it's there. 2nd pic shim over Gem blade. 3rd pic, shim under Gem blade. 4th pic, just showing the shim and blade from the rear of the razor............. Edit: I decided that it's best to remove more metal from the shim blade............ Video by Subie Shaves:
I received a core razor last week. It's quite nice. Only issue is trying to remove the blade with wet fingers..its a bit slippery and tough to remove.
