Open comb vs. Closed comb

I have a question are all closed combs as gentle as the super speeds? Also are the closed comb type referred to as closed comb or something else? thx

 

no... some are even milder. Usually we say that it is closed-comb or has a safety bar.

 

Not all safety bar razors are non-aggressive. The Red Tip SS is more aggressive, and there are others that are equally so. An SS isn't actually closed comb, it has a safety bar. A closed comb actually does have a comb, but the teeth are all connected together at the top, an example of that would be the Merkurs.

 

while the older tech models were decent, the latest tech models were very mild. The lux can be very agressive. A feather portable is fairly agressive.

Rodd was right, safety bar is what techs, LUX, and feather portable have. Closed bar are like the Merkurs.

 

Yeah so far not a big fan of the ss but I do like the new and the mocromatic. I am thinking maybe a gem jr next or the 1914 ever ready

 

Get a 1912 model Gem Junior,, or similar wonder razors.
