I ordered this on Friday and it just arrived in the mail today. I plan to use it tomorrow along with my Phoenix Cavendish soap, post-shave, etc. I've heard it's surprisingly mild, and it's certainly smaller and light-weight than my Merkur 34c and Gillette Heritage-Inspired. But the knurling on the handle is out of this world, and the open comb base plate and cap have me thinking the extra blade exposure will compensate for the lighter weight.

Who's used this razor? What were your thoughts? I also got the Atomic Rocket synthetic brush, and let me tell you, I was NOT prepared for how freakin' huge it would be. The pictures had me thinking it'd be much smaller.

I got one of those little tools.
It's mild, very mild, but you can get a ok shave if you like mild razors.

I actually prefer medium razors like the Merkur 34, but we'll see what happens.

It's probably the mildest razor I've ever used. I didn't try really pressing it into my face but I'm not sure you could make the blade touch skin, so it leaves some whiskers behind but it's a guaranteed comfortable shave.

It's definitely not as aggressive as, say, a Merkur 34 or even the Gillette Heritage-Inspired, but apparently the head and base plate are designed to be compatible with a wide range of handles so you can swap out the handle for a heavier one to make a more aggressive tool. I find so far that this DOC is better for buffing.
