I have heard good things about this razor. Does anyone know where I could find this razor to buy in the US?
hey guys, I was tipped off on another forum that these are available in the US through this vendor here: http://gentlemensbest.com/SafetyRazors.aspx Has anybody here tried one of these razors?
I'm curious as to how this razor shaves, but for $275 I'm content with leaving that curiosity unresolved.
Well, it looks like there are plenty in stock. Maybe, we could split it 275 ways and have a travelling razor. Then again, being person 275 sounds a little unappealiing.
This razor is not a good investment. If you pay $245 for it and find out your don't like it which is very possible, you will most likely have to go to $145 if you want to re-sell it. Even then, it might not sell.
Here is another thread from B&B discussing the Pils. They actually seem to come down in price from the original $300 shipped from Europe. http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=101993&highlight=Pils+safety+razor
Not really, this guy is a Brick and Mortar Store so he must have overhead unlike the normal e-sites. I also noticed it is the Progress 500 which comes in a case not just a cardboard box.
Won't fly on a wet shaving forum where most people are pretty well aware of what things costs and it's easy to see the prices are high. Thanks for taking the time to PM me :happy102
I'm sure he's not really worried about it. I've looked at lots of the sites and frankly the prices are not so far out of wack. In fact some items are cheaper than others.
No matter what site you go to, some prices will be higher, some will be lower. Not everyone pays the same prices for the goods they are selling. The fact that he has overhead to pay also has to bump prices up a little bit. If you are just looking for the cheapest price on a certain razor, it may not be the place to order. I have done business with the founder, and he is a gentleman, and I have a lot of respect for him. I would love to visit his store sometime, it looks awesome.
The Pils is an incredibly well-made razor with German precision and craftsmanship behind it. The heft is impressive and the shave remarkable. Luckily I was a tester and not an owner since I too felt the price was high for the experience. But there are those who feel differently and the market for this remarkable razor does seem to be growing in the US and Germany.
For that price that razor had better be able to perform other personal tasks besides giving a remarkable shave and feel good in the hand! Even if I wasn't tighter than bark on a tree, that is just way over priced.
